POST PRODUCTION.
Post Production has been slow, melancholic and reflective. Personally, it’s been an extremely hard time, and honestly, the word that feels most appropriate in referencing this stage is a grieving process. (Grief shows up more and more as a theme in my life, so why wouldn’t it be felt here?)
Which makes a lot of sense because of how much of ourselves we have poured into “Strange Kindness”. It’s been our third wheel for the past four and a half years. It’s been our shared goal, our shared wish, our shared efforts.
Everything happened so quickly it seems. So many moments led up to us publishing our Seed&Spark crowdfunding page and once we hit GO LIVE, we entered into a turbo speed phase of this project which came to a screeching halt on October 28th when we had finished filming.
Ever since, I’ve been clawing my way back to the surface and what I’m finding is gratitude. Gratitude for all of the people who showed up for us. We never could’ve asked for people to care about “Strange Kindness” the way we do, but that’s what happened. People took on this project like it was theirs and because of that, I know we made a very good film.
Something I’ve been fantasizing about for a while is telling the stories of how each person came to be a part of this project. The interconnectedness is unbelievable and it’s hard to not say things like, “This was meant to be”.
Next up, I’ll share the story of how a brilliant actor named Michal Vondel came to be a part of “Strange Kindness”.
